Fill a saucepan with 1-2 inches of water and bring to a boil on the stovetop. Peel, core and cut the apples into chunks. The sweeter the apple the better for baby’s first feeding (royal gala or red delicious). Place apple chunks into the water and boil for 8 minutes or until tender. Transfer to food processor or blender and purée adding liquid if necessary. *Cinnamon or nutmeg
FAMILY RECIPE: Pan Seared Salmon over Apple Parsnip Puree
Method of Preparation:
Place the sliced apples into a pot with milk. Add oil to a pan for the salmon to sear. Season the salmon with salt and pepper to taste. Cook the salmon until golden brown. Pour the apples and milk into a blender and puree. Place back into a pan to simmer. To plate: spread out the puree onto a plate and place the salmon on top. Take a whole apple and slice it thin to garnish the plate.
